- The Long will be around 80% of a full length long.
- Non-elites will be defined as those who do not supply an IOF ID. It is free to make an athlete profile on the IOF website. This will enable you to earn world ranking points. Starts: 2min intervals in the middle and 3min intervals in the long. Non-elites will start, either at 1min intervals or with a punching start, before the seeded starts.
Maps and Planning: Martin Bagness
Controllers: Dan and Karen Parker
IOF Event Adviser: David Rosen
Co-ordinator: Alasdair Pedley
The GB squad and the Scottish Elite Development Squad (SEDS) will be using the weekend to kick off the 2024 season.
Prizes:
Once again prizes are generously being sponsored by Kong Running, based in Keswick, who specialise in running and other outdoor equipment.
For both males and females:
1st - £30
2nd - £25
3rd - £20
1st U23 (born 2000 or later) - £20
1st U20 (born 2003 or later)- £20
We intended to have these for each day but we only received one set of vouchers, so we used the overall results.
The focus of Lakeland Warrior has always been first and foremost on providing an opportunity for elites and aspiring elites to race against each other on the highest quality courses we can get in the UK. When the venue permits, we are all for opening up the event to a wider audience, as we recognise that many people enjoy the challenge of racing elite courses. Last year, for example, we had no restrictions on numbers and ended up with 160 runners which was fantastic. However, this year, the landowners, and Natural England, have given us limits on the numbers of runners we can have, since the area includes SSSIs, for instance. So, entries will initially be capped at 120.
The Short course exists primarily for helpers and travelling companions.
